Wayne is very musical and plays a variety of musical
instruments including Clarinet, Sax, Guitar and yes,
the Sousaphone. He's also accomplished his share of songwriting - together with Alan and Merrill, he composed the lyrics and music for the group's 1974 album "The Plan," which they describe as a "statement
of belief."

When you have a conversation with
Wayne, he's well-known as a good
listener. He is grounded in his
convictions and will not agree with
something just to be courteous
.

Wayne's love of flying was always a big interest in his life. In his spare
time when he was not performing, he took to the skies learning to fly
airplanes. Wayne received his pilot's license two years before he
even got a driver's license. Wayne's mother always joked that she had
to drive him to the airport so he could fly. He says he gets a feeling of
exultation that comes with flying, which he has never felt anywhere
else. For a period of time the brothers took a break from performing
and Wayne was having the time of his life flying Lear jets.
